The family and record label of late EDM superstar Avicii are reportedly discussing the possibility of releasing a posthumous album of his music.
In a recent interview, Avicii’s friend and collaborator Aloe Blacc mentioned the plans “There are several songs left. I believe the record label is working with his parents and the estate to find a way to bring these unreleased songs to the public.”
Avicii who died earlier this year at the young age of just 28, had apparently been working with American record producer and musician Nile Rodgers, and the two had made an entire album’s worth of tracks together. Whether any of these tracks are among the one being considered for release is unconfirmed.
Aloe Blacc also spoke about the impact of Avicii’s death has had on the industry and his fans “Avicii’s death has been a call to a lot of young folks for people to take better care of themselves and surround themselves with people who are looking out for their best interests.”
Whether the release will come to fruition or not we will need to wait, but we hope to hear some new Avicii sounds in the future.
