Genius, the platform behind Spotify’s ‘Behind The Lyrics’ and popular YouTube channel have succeeded in raising $15M in their latest round of funding which was lead by Everblue.
Their YouTube channel, which currently has over 2.2M subscribers and 400M video views has worked on videos with Desiigner, Big Shaq, Logic, Jaden Smith and more, focusing on topics such as Behind The Lyrics, track deconstructions, news blasts and interviews.
The team at Genius said they plan to use the newly available capital to ‘amplify work in original content and video, community development, live events, and strategic partnerships with streaming services and new platforms’.
