South London-based DJ and production talent Jack Swoon continues to work with Pete Tong’s Three Six Zero Recordings, as his latest studio effort finds him returning to the label for the third time.
Titled ‘Nervous’, the track comes barely 18 months after his inaugural career outing, and shows the potential he has as one of the UK’s most promising newcomers.
Jack takes over our Five Tracks series this month, where he highlights refreshing house cuts from names like The Martinez Brothers, Paris Green, and bad tuner. You can find the full list, including words from Jack himself, below.
bad tuner ft. Sebastian Adé – loverboi
Label: LG105
I discovered bad tuner from his track ‘Relationship Is’ and now he has come back with ‘loverboi’ and it’s amazing! Nothing but pure happy vibes using the organ synth, and Sebastian’s vocal really hits you in the feels. Perfect combo.
Essence of Time & David Hohme – Queen Bass
Label: Way Of House
I oddly discovered this track on a TikTok video of a famous footballer doing kick ups! The small clip had me digging to find the full track and I wasn’t disappointed when I found it. This makes me want to be in a dark intimate club with a small group of friends just riding the vibe. Love playing this mid set.
The Martinez Brothers ft. Scott Storch & Leven Kali – Just A Feeling
Label: Independent
The Martinez Brothers do really well with their more melodic stuff. I’m a big fan of most of it as it has a Louie Vega feel throughout. You can tell that they are heavily influenced by him. The fact that Scott Storch features on this track is insane. It’s the type of track I could listen to anywhere, club, pool, gym, literally anywhere.
Paris Green ft. Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell – Oh Yes
Label: Positiva
Pure vibes! This track came out at a time when everyone was ordered to stay at home and it was songs like this that showed me that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Such a vibe! How can you not love Marvin Gaye on a house beat.
Oden & Fatzo – Lauren
Label: B1 Recordings
Game changer! These guys are very versatile in their sound and output but this track went straight in to my sets and I can’t see it leaving for a while. I was so happy to see it explode and do as well as it has. I can’t wait to hear more of this sound from the boys.
