Luuk Van Dijk – Get My Luv
Label: No Art
“It’s hard to choose just one track from this incredible EP by Dutch talent and my buddy Luuk Van Dijk. ‘Get My Luv’ has made an appearance in just about every set I’ve played this year – the perfect blend of old-school jackin’ house and Luuk’s fresh synth work. Night or day, club or festival, this track is a people mover and one of my favourites in 2024.”
Kyle Walker – Prince Charming
Label: Dub or Die
“Kyle Walker delivers yet another standout track with this 2024 groover. ‘Prince Charming’ has a mint club-ready mix and a beautiful melodic vibe to it. This is another one that has been in rotation in my sets, especially in those late-night dark club shows. Also a big shoutout to him on starting his new imprint, Dub Or Die!”
ChaseWest – Simple One
Label: Chaste Records
“A little background on this track: I remember when ChaseWest first started this idea back in 2021. We were both living in Burbank, CA, trying to make it happen. One of my favourite things about music is how old ideas can feel right even years later (such as this case), and finally get the credit they deserve. I always loved this track and how experimental it is; ChaseWest puts his unique style & sampling ability on full display with this beat.”
Gaskin – Dirty Mindz
Label: BassJamz
“It’s just an absolute BANGER of a track; I remember counting down the days to its release. Gaskin’s ‘Dirty Mindz’ feels like the exclamation point on his already established ravey / ’90s sound that has made a complete resurgence thanks to him and his imprint, BassJamz. This song has so many different, amazing elements in it, from the opening saw to the M1 organ to the droning vocal and crowd noise, easily one of the standouts of 2024!”
Ranger Trucco & Eboni Green – Devotion
Label: range.
“I had to include one of my own beats here. This song had been an unfinished project on my laptop for over a year before I finally got put in touch with Birmingham-based vocalist Eboni Green, who immediately crafted a hook and verse to take this track to the finish line. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out and, more importantly, what it taught me about not giving up on an idea.”
