British club veteran Dave Robertson has taken his Reset Robot project from locally known entity to now being a fully fledged player in the fast-paced game of international techno.
Alongside his own Whistleblower Records imprint, Robertson has also released Reset Robot productions on some of the genre’s most established labels, including Truesoul, Hotflush Recordings, and Drumcode.
The latest in our own Five Tracks series finds the Portsmouth-based artist share some of his favourite clubs tracks, with mentions of Sebo K, Timo Maas, and Or:la. Get the full list, including words from Reset Robot himself, below.
Moogroove – Dark Room
Label: Mo Rhythm Records
I found this on the Motor City Drum Ensemble fabric mix. Great track with loads of energy! I love the ravey portamento notes that come in during the break.
Or:la – Allaballa
Label: fabric
This is an absolute beast. Hypnotic and trippy. Kinda reminds me of some of the old peace division stuff. The atmospheric breaks are so cool in this and the drops really pay off!
Petar Dundov – Overtone
Label: Cocoon Recordings
Taking me back to my trance days. This is so euphoric! I used to hear stuff like this when I first started going out to Slinky at the Operahouse in Bournemouth.
Azzido Da Bass – Dooms Night (Timo Maas Remix)
Label: Club Tools
Absolute fucking classic in my opinion! Heard this for the first time in a Carl Cox set many years back and it blew my mind. Still stands up now production wise and the arrangement is incredible.
Sebo K – Restless (Darkness Mix)
Label: Rekids
Love this. If I was playing a warm up set this would be my weapon to change the vibe in the room! Smooth production and a naughty nagging baseline!
Reset Robot – Tired Voice EP drops April 22nd on Poker Flat Recordings.
