Pioneer have just announced the latest addition to its ever expanding range of portable DJ performance controllers.
The DDJ-800 is one of Pioneer’s most portable controllers yet, designed as a portable, cost-effective all-in-one solution for gigging DJs. The controller features a two-channel mixer and decks which similar in look to the NXS2 range and comes with both phono and line inputs so you can hook up turntables or other audio sources.
Unlike other products in their controller range, Pioneer have relocated the display screens from their traditional place at the top of the decks or mixer, to a small round screen in the centre of the jog wheel. You also have 16 performance pads for triggering your loops, hot cues and effects or samples as well as Pioneer’s trademark suite of FX.
The layout is designed in such a way to help familiarise DJs with Pioneer’s flagship club-standard set-up; the CDJ-2000NXS2 and DJM-900NXS2, at a fraction of the cost, with units expected to ship for around $899.
