British band alt-J have just announced that they are launching their very own beer, a brut IPA to be exact. The beer will be called Absolutely No Worries and comes as a collaboration between alt-J and East London brewery Signature Brew.
With a alcohol by volume measuring 6.5%, it’s well above the average strength of most household name beers.
Gus Unger-Hamilton, one third of alt-J said, “Something has been bubbling away between us and Signature Brew for the last few months, and today we are excited to announce our (very) drinkable collaboration: Absolutely No Worries, a brut IPA inspired both by our cocktail of choice and our very choice sound engineer. Brewed with citra hops, coriander seeds and juniper berries, this refreshing ale is reminiscent of that very alt-J drink, the gin and tonic. And adorning the can is Lance, our front of house engineer and friend since 2012, a man who has been with us through thick and thin and who isn’t afraid of the occasional IPA. We love him, we love this beer and we can’t wait for our grown-up fans to try it.”
The beer comes in the run up to the bands REDUXER album, releasing on September 28th the album will give fans hiphop reworks of alt-J’s Relaxer LP, with tracks on the project featuring work from Pusha-T, Danny Brown, GoldLink and Rejjie Snow, it’s no doubt going to be packed with slick production and deep sonics.
