When news of Avicii’s passing broke it sent an edge to edge shock across the music industry at every level, and since then his fans and peers have shown an incredible display of gratitude. His music has appeared in charts once again across the world, social media tributes have came in the thousands, and just last night he won an award at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The posthumous victory came via his nomination for the Best Dance Video, other videos nominated included Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa’s One Kiss, The Chainsmokers’ Everybody Hates Me and David Guetta & Sia’s Flame.
