Celebrating it’s 5th anniversary this year, Brighton Music Conference kicks-off next week at The Brighton Dome and a variety of clubs and venues around the city. Spanning across multiple days the talks, masterclasses and parties will take place April 25th through April 28th.
This year has an incredible schedule full of knowledge, art, entertainment and technology, with events running from Toolroom Records, BBC Radio 1, Hospital Records, Focusrite, DJ Mag, SoundCloud and Inflyte among others.
Since we can’t wait to arrive in Brighton on the 25th, we picked apart the official schedule to list eight of our favourite events throughout the conference. Including discussion from Native Instruments and sets by Eats Everything, this is our 8 things we’re looking forward to at this years Brighton Music Conference.
1. AFEM x BMC Launch Party with Inflyte, Evermix and Ticketmaster
Wednesday 25th April 2018, The Tempest Inn
7:00pm – 10:00pm
Kicking things off on April 25, the official Brighton Music Conference opening party will bring together some industry heavyweights as AFEM (Association for Electronic Music), BMC, Ticketmaster, Evermix and Inflyte offer food, drinks and a chance to break the ice on this years conference.
Also providing the soundtrack for the event is Constant Circles boss Just Her and the Evermix x Inflyte DJ competition winner James Clarke.

2. Native Instruments Women In Dance Music Networking Event
Thursday 26th April 2018, Hotel Peliroco
5:30pm – 7:00pm
Native Instruments highlight the issues of gender inequality within the music industry by hosting a networking event focusing on women in music, partners include industry collective She Said So, PRS Keychange Initiative, Women Produce Music and Kokoro Gin.

3. DJ Growth Lab
Saturday 28th April 2018, Jurys Inn
11:00am – 6:00pm
DJ Growth Lab will host a series of discussions at Jurys Inn with a Q&A from British DJ and producer Doorly, a panel on how to launch your own radio show with On Air’s Nat Rich, social media domination for DJs with Daniel Stephenson from Digital Growth Hackers, creating a personal brand with music photographer Luke Curtis and how to build a DJ profile with DJ Growth Lab’s Danny Savage.

4. Drum&Bass Arena 2018 presents Friction & The Prototypes
Friday 27th April 2018, The Arch
11:00pm – 4:00am
An absolute can’t-miss event for the Drum&Bass fans descending on Brighton this April is Drum&Bass Arena’s show at The Arch venue.
Shogun Audio boss and former Radio 1 DJ Friction will headline alongside The Prototypes and A.M.C, with Deadline on support. Various MCs will also be present including Linguistics, 2Shy and Phantom.

5. Toolroom Academy
Thursday 26th April 2018, Deadwax Social
10:00am – 6:30pm
UK label Toolroom Records will host an open demo drop at this years conference with a public A&R feedback session, similar events from the label have resulted in three people being signed to Toolroom.
Production masterclass sessions will also be held with Ben Remember, Tuff London, Illyus & Barrientos and label bossman Mark Knight.

6. Data Transmission 10th Birthday
Thursday 26th April 2018, Hotel Peliroco
7:00pm – Midnight
London blog Data Transmission checked the box on ten years this year, hosting parties at clubs like XOYO to celebrate.
They play host once again on April 26 with a networking event at Brighton’s Hotel Peliroco, partnering with 808 Whiskey the line up will include Seff, Rich Wakley, Wax Worx and Vibe Killers.
The event will also be streamed live via Data Transmission Radio.

7. Patterns presents Craig Richards
Saturday 28th April 2018, Patterns
10:00pm – 4:00am
Patterns host visual artist, producer and fabric’s legendary former resident Craig Richards for a party that will run until 4am, many people consider Craig to be responsible for the sound of one of Britains greatest clubs.
Also scheduled to play on the bill is Mehtola and Ovre, with J-Felix and Wild Fantasy upstairs.

8. Take presents Eats Everything
Thursday 26th April 2018, The Arch
10:00pm – 5:00am
Edibles boss Eats Everything is gradually becoming one of the finest selectors Bristol has ever produced. He has released on Dirtybird, Hypercolour, Pets and more, and his 2015 reboot of Dancing! saw incredible success.
Take will welcome the British DJ to Brighton for the official BMC afterparty, hosting the party for the third year in a row they previously brought Patrick Topping and Seth Troxler to the conference.
