British DJ Paul Oakenfold is one of the few artists who have managed to stay relevant through multiple generations of club culture. He has been atop the UK’s dance scene since finding fame in the late-80s and from his most recent announcement isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Oakenfold with team up with Alon Shulman and his Universe company to deliver a DJ performance to one of Britain’s most recognisable places, Stonehenge. At some point in September, Alon and Paul will invite 50 hand picked guests for a once in a lifetime show.
Previously he has already played the Great Wall Of China, at Mount Everest’s basecamp and at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and with the acceleration in both drone and live streaming technology, the idea of a ‘unique DJ location’ is becoming more challenging.
Paul Oakenfold said: “I am so lucky to be able to share my music from such an iconic site. The energy there will be like nowhere else on earth, and this will be reflected in my music and performance. Despite having performed at incredible events and locations all across the globe, sunset at Stonehenge will be the most magical.”
During the performance he will also record an album ‘Live At Stonehenge’, which we assume will go on general sale afterwards.
