Green Velvet’s Irish tour over St. Patricks’ Weekend ended in disappointment for thousands of Irish fans who had bought tickets for the TechWorks Festival taking place in the Green Glens Arena Millstreet in Co. Cork.
According to Green Velvet’s Twitter feed, he put a request in to the promoter’s to fix what he perceived was poor quality sound or he would not play and would return to them his DJ fee for the appearance. The promoters accepted his offer which meant it’s headlining act didn’t play the festival which also hosted Maya Jane Coles and Huxley among others.
There were also reported issues for Drumcodes’ Layton Giordani whose set was cut short due to sound-related problems. The two performers were in Ireland for a weekend of shows dropping in on Sligo, Belfast, Dublin and Cork.
Green Velvet and Layton Giordani tweeted the following after the incident, also see below for a video of the Belfast show which went off without a hitch.
I really must apologize to my fans in Cork. I told the promoters to fix my sound or I would leave and give them my money back...they replied...give us our money back. So predictable.

Amazing weekend in Ireland 🇮🇪 sorry to everyone in cork for ending my set so abruptly and short. Never turn off a DJ’s set cuz you didn’t like when we asked to fix the sound.. I’m pretty sure the records I play aren’t suppose to sound like distorted destruction 🤦🏼♂️👎🏼😠
