With a run of releases on Cr2 Records, Blindsided, and Universal Music, as well as official remix work for names like Anne Marie and Charli XCX, Irish pair Back N Fourth are well on their way to getting the recognition their music deserves.

The next outing for the Sligo-based artists finds them debut on Relentless Records with their new single, Best Friend. Previously the label has released tracks from some of dance music’s elite, including Bondax and Paul Woolford.

We welcome Back N Fourth to our Inflyte Radar, to find out what they have been up to recently, how they came to work with Relentless, what plans they have for the near future, and more. Get the full discussion below.

Hi guys, you’re on our Inflyte Radar this month! Tell our readers what you have been up to recently?

Hi, thanks for having us, we hope you’re all keeping good. Recently we have taken a detox from social media but we have been working hard in the studio, currently finished off two new original singles and a remix. We are also working with some really talented independent vocalists / songwriters, so that’s very exciting.

Let’s start with your new track “Best Friend”, how would you describe the track in your own words?

“Best Friend” is an uplifting, nostalgic, summery track about two best friends who have being through thick and thin, good and bad, but always have each other’s backs from day one, no matter what.

And it comes on Relentless Records, a label which has put out music from Bondax, Alan Walker, Stormzy, and Paul Woolford in the past, how did you come to sign the track with them?

The guys at Relentless Records picked the track up through our manager Charlie Arme, they loved it from the first listen and wanted to sign it.

Do you have any plans to put out remixes for it down the line?

Yes, we already have a huge remix package in place. Watch this space.

You’ve also released tracks with Blindsided, Cr2 Records, and Universal Music, what’s your typical thought process when a label approaches you for a release?

When a label approaches us, we are always excited as it shows that people are diggin’ our music and it gives us the opportunity to showcase some new sounds. We used to overthink the process but now with more experience in the industry we know our sound and we trust our process.

And which labels can we expect to see you on in the near future?

Our new home for the future is Relentless Records and we are really looking forward to working with the team.

What’s one label that you hope to release with before the end of your career?

Oh, so many. Probably Polydor.

Working as a duo, how do you handle any conflicts when it comes to which direction a track takes in the studio?

Usually it all flows but we take everything onboard. It has worked up till now and as they say we won’t fix it if it’s not broken.

And how do you handle DJ sets, do you split the set time in half, or play back-2-back?

Yes, we usually play 2 tracks each, back-2-back while the other person uses effects, loops etc.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer our questions, before we go, is there anything else you want to mention?

Keep an eye on our socials for up-and-coming music, gigs & events. We hope to see you at a festival or club soon. Thanks for having us, it was a pleasure. Peace!

Back N Fourth – Best Friend is out soon on Relentless Records.
