How has 2024 been for Augusto Yepes so far?

Hey guys, 2024 has been my best year yet. I’m incredibly grateful for everything happening in my DJ career and personal life. At the beginning of the year, I toured America, playing at fascinating venues with highly energetic crowds. I played in Las Vegas at XS Club, opening for Rufus Du Sol, and I later played the main stage at The Brooklyn Mirage in New York.

I’ve also performed in cities like St. Barth, Miami, NYC, Mexico City, St. Maarten, Medellin, and Tamarindo. The Caribbean vibes and great energy have been incredible. I’m in the middle of summer, playing at places like Ibiza, Mykonos, and St. Tropez. I’m enjoying the fantastic weather, the sun, great music, and friends. This year has truly been a whirlwind of unforgettable experiences and remarkable growth.

What’s one thing you’ve done this year that’s really exceeded your expectations?

Playing on the main stage of the iconic Brooklyn Mirage was a dream come true and exceeded my expectations. Warming up for Rufus Du Sol was also a monumental experience for me. These events were not only career highlights but also deeply enriching personal experiences. They pushed me to elevate my performance and connect with the audience on a profound level.

The energy and support from the fans during these shows was overwhelming, making them unforgettable milestones in my career. Additionally, playing at the top summer destinations like Ibiza, Mykonos, and St. Tropez has taken things to a whole new level, further enhancing my journey this year.

You recently debuted on Rose Avenue with your three-track ‘Breathe In’ EP – how would you describe the tracks for anyone who hasn’t heard them yet?

‘Breathe In’ is a melody that blends various influences, from melodic sounds to epic elements, all woven with a profound emotional charge. It’s a song that invites you to immerse yourself in a sonic experience, evoking emotions and prompting reflection on the intensity of each breath.

The EP is designed to take listeners on a journey through soundscapes which are both deeply moving and exhilarating. Each track has its unique character, yet they all share a common thread of emotional depth and musical sophistication. It’s an exploration of different moods and atmospheres, creating a rich and immersive listening experience.

And which other labels might we see you on soon?

I’m currently in discussions with some very exciting labels to close out this year. While I can’t reveal their names until the final paperwork is done, I can say that I’m thrilled about these upcoming releases. These tracks represent some of my best work yet, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear them. Stay tuned, because there’s a lot of amazing music on the horizon. This collaboration with new labels will allow me to reach new audiences and further expand my musical horizons.

Beatport named you an emerging artist to watch back in June – that must give you a lot of confidence for the future?

A tremendous honor and a significant confidence booster. It’s incredibly validating to have such a prestigious platform recognize my work and potential. This acknowledgement motivates me to keep pushing the boundaries of my music and strive for excellence. It’s also a reminder of the responsibility I have to my fans and the broader music community to continue delivering innovative high quality music.

You’re of course Colombian, what are some of your favourite Colombian clubs to play?

SCI in Medellin has become the epicentre of the party scene in Colombia. Its vibrant atmosphere and passionate crowd make every performance there unforgettable. Another favorite is the classic and one-and-only La Movida in Cartagena. The energy and enthusiasm of the audience in these clubs is unparalleled, making them some of my favourite places to play. These venues not only offer incredible vibes but also reflect the rich cultural tapestry of Colombia’s music scene.

And some other emerging artists from Colombia that you think we should check out?

Presi On & Renate are incredibly talented artists with whom I’ve collaborated on a few songs. They are artists to watch. Their innovative approach to music and unique sound has impressed me greatly. Colombia has a vibrant and growing music scene, and these artists are at the forefront, pushing creative boundaries and bringing fresh sounds to the industry. Keep an eye on them; they’re already making a significant impact.

Is there anything else you want to mention before we go?

I’m excited about the upcoming tour and all the new releases. I’m very thankful for everyone who has supported me along the way and everyone who comes out to dance in every city I visit. Your energy and support mean the world to me. I hope to see you at one of my shows soon. Let’s continue to create unforgettable memories together. Stay tuned for more exciting music and performances!
