Berlin-based techno fiend Dajusch makes a much-welcomed return to FJAAK’s SPANDAU20 imprint next week, as his ‘Move’ original features on their latest VA release.
Dajusch has previously brought us music via club-focused record labels like Mutual Rytm and Index Marcel Fengler, and 2025 is looking to be a defining year for his career so far.
We spoke to him about ‘Move’, which other inclusions he’s enjoying from the VA album, and more. Read the full interview below.
How has 2025 been for Dajusch so far?
It’s been impactful for me. My solo single on CROWD saw the light of day, and so far the resonance has been very positive. Seeing artists I’ve always looked up to acknowledge my music gives me a special kind of motivation. I’m also excited for the release of the SPANDAU20 compilation in April.
You’re about to return to SPANDAU20 for the release of ‘Move’ – what can people expect to hear from the track?
My track ‘Move’ is an ever-evolving journey of the classic sounds we all know and love – right between hypnotic and uplifting.
And it comes on their latest VA release, which other inclusions have you been enjoying from the album?
It’s like having to pick a favourite child… impossible! Sonically I really enjoy ‘Fennec’ by J.Manuel and Tobi Neumann. You can hear their combined experience in the studio. Nikk’s ‘In the Shadows‘ will be spreading smiles over a lot of dancefloors.
And I appreciate Anna Z bending the rules with unique but very recognisable sound design on her track ‘Icy Liq’. And, of course, Elli, Claus, and FJAAK dropping straight bangers.
You’ve also released music with Index Marcel Fengler and Mutual Rythm, which labels might we see added to this list in the near future?
At the moment I’m drawn to a more stripped-down version of my sound. So, I’m assembling possible EPs right now to then knock on some big doors.
One thing you’re looking forward to this summer?
Riding my good-weather bicycle.
What’s been one studio trick you’ve picked up when making music recently?
Less is more. Need to relearn that every few months.
Dajusch – Move is out April 3rd on SPANDAU20.
