Interview: Jack Swoon returns to Viberoom for 'Call Me'

Previous outings with record labels such as Eton Messy Records and Three Six Zero have made Jack Swoon a name worth paying attention to in recent years.

His own Viberoom Records imprint has played host to some of his newer releases, and it’s also responsible for his latest single release, ‘Call Me’.

We spoke to the South London native about his new track, which other labels he might be working with in the near future, and more.

Hi Jack! How has life been for you in recent months?

It’s been great! I’m very excited about the year ahead, I have a good feeling for 2025, so I’m quite excited.

You just made a return to your Viberoom Records label for the release of ‘Call Me’ – how would you describe the track to someone who hasn’t heard it yet?

Great question. I would say it’s a deeper moody sensual track. I released it on Valentine’s Day for a reason, I feel like there will be a lot of people that can relate to the lyrics and vibe of the track.

And it took a couple of years for you to finally release it, why keep it on the shelf for so long?

Honestly, I don’t know. Maybe because it was a little different to music I have put out in the past but this year I’m making a conscious effort not to overthink things like that. Time flies as well, when I realised how long it had been I was really shocked.

We’ve also seen you put music out with Eton Messy Records and Three Six Zero – which other labels can we expect to see added to this list in the coming months?

Nothing is 100% confirmed but labels that I have my eye on and would love to release with include Paradise, Helix Records, Ninja Tune, Defected Records, Jackie’s Music, and CircoLoco. I’m a huge fan of all these labels and really feel that my sound would suit them well.

And how about Viberoom – it’s been exclusively your own productions so far – will you be releasing music from other people too?

That’s the goal! I would love to support some new music from other artists so please send me your demos via TrackStack or email.

What’s something you’re really excited for in 2025?

This year I’m going to be working with Palm Tree Club in Orlando doing numerous shows over the year. I really love the concept with their venues and who knows maybe you’ll see me in Miami or Vegas with them at some point too, fingers crossed!

What’s been a new trick you learnt in the studio recently?

I follow SEIDS on Instagram and she is amazing at giving tips and tricks for Logic Pro users. The one I’m using the most right now is using the Flex Pitch tool to detect notes used in samples. It really helps and saves time if you use a lot of samples and want to know what notes or chords are being played. It’s great for producers that don’t play instruments.

Is there anything else you want to mention before we go?

I started a small community on Telegram where dance music fans can talk to each other, share music, events, and it’s also a place where I share all of my new music, mixes, and tour dates. If you’re reading this then I’d love for you to join us there, you can find an invite via the link on my Instagram.
