Interview: Sisko Electrofanatik

Italian techno artist Sisko Electrofanatik talks about his newly released ‘Starboy’ LP, his own Gain Records imprint, and which other record labels we might see him on soon…

Where are you today? And what have you been up to recently?

Today, I’m in Italy near my hometown in Rome, and I’ve been in my studio finishing things for my album, upcoming remixes, and summer tour.

Your new ‘Starboy’ LP – talk us through the concept behind the project?

It’s part of the celebration of my 20-year career, the album is a collection of tracks I’ve made in the last 10 years. I made around 40 unreleased tracks, and selected the best ones for the album.

It includes 15 tracks in total, was it always the plan to make it so comprehensive?

Yes sure, it covers multiple electronic music genres, but still represents my techno sound. All the tracks I selected were a part of my 20-year journey of DJ, and producing music. It includes genres such as acid electronica, raw techno, melodic techno, progressive house, and minimal.

The album comes via your own Gain Records, how are you finding being a label owner?

Yes, my label isthea reason why I wanted to release my first artist album. It was one of the first peak time techno labels in Italy, and it has influenced many artists and producers all over the world. Gain Records releases have been supported and played by superstars like Carl Cox, Joseph Capriati, Richie Hawtin, Amelie Lens, and many more.

So, being a label owner is 24/7, continuous, and of course, I was the first artist to release on the label. Gain Records represents myself and my musical concept, but it’s always updating with new music and artists.

And who else can we expect to hear on Gain in the coming months?

I have lots planned and scheduled on Gain Records and its sister imprint Gain Plus. Upcoming releases feature music from veteran artists like Lowshape, Alex Micca feat. Mc Casty, and the master DJ/producer Dyno.

There is also a debut on Gain from Adrianna, and remixes by me, Roberto Da Capo, Dark Devotion, Davestorm, Giorgia Mori, Nicole Lovera, Windeskind, Sami D., and some others. Also, we are working on a new compilation concept that we will announce during the summer.

How about your own music? Which other labels might we see you release with?

After my album, I will be putting out some remixes on Gain. I have done remixes for a track by ØURSPACE, and I will feature on the return of historic label, Audio Elite. This summer, I also have an original track signed to OFF Recordings, and Rave the Planet. I also have some collaborations with “old-school” artists, as well as curating a remix package of my album which will come out towards the end of 2025!

Anything else to add?

My new album is out now, and I hope you all enjoy it. I’ll soon be announcing dates for my summer tour, and can’t wait to see all you on the dance floor.
