Interview: David Morales

American Grammy winner and club music icon David Morales returned to his own DIRIDIM imprint this month for the release of his new collaborative single ‘Make It Right’.

We spoke to him about the new track, Ibiza, and more.

How are things in the life of David Morales right now?

Things are going quite well thanks. The touring season is getting off to an amazing start and I’m having the best creative moment in the studio.

You just made a return to your own DIRIDIM imprint for the release of ‘Make It Right’ – how would you describe the single to anyone yet to hear it?

I would describe “Make It Right” as a disco house flavored groovin’ song, with a lot of soul.

And it’s your third collaborative release with blondewearingblack, you must be building quite the rapport together at this point?

I love working with Samantha. She has her own sound and vibe. She can do any style of music. We work well together.

What are some of the biggest pros and cons to working with other artists, versus a solo production?

Two artists create something unique that has two different energies, and it’s always a pleasure to work with other talented artists.

I never really have any con stories to tell. I won’t work with a difficult artist.

Who’s your dream collaboration?

Michael Jackson!

What’s on your agenda for Ibiza 2025?

Well, I have my bi-weekly residency at Freddie’s at the Pikes Hotel, which is my favorite club in the world right now. And I also have a couple dates at with Glitterbox and a date at Pacha with Louie Vega.

Is there anything else left for you to do on the island after so many seasons?

Not really, LOL!!!

David Morales & blondewearingblack – Make It Right is out now on DIRIDIM.
