Since breaking out with his Mad Disrespect EP back in 2012, New York producer Anthony Naples has released music with Rubadub, Text Records and The Trilogy Tapes. This month he returned to his own ANS label, a sub-label of Incienso, bringing with him a ten-track long player that follows the Body Pill LP and Take Me With You LP. The tracklist runs for just over an hour, making it his biggest project to date as the previous two just about crack 65 minutes combined. It’s a spaced out
house jam that uses rich ambience, dense reverbs, energetic delays and incredible production quality to deliver one of the most enjoyable albums of the past few months. While about 75% of the tracks were built with a dancefloor in mind, Channel 2 and Channel 3 are dreamy displays of Naples synth work. And if it is 4/4 anthems you’re looking for, there’s plenty of that too. Fog FM is definitely a station we’ll be tuning into time and time again.
Where to start:
‘Purple Iris’ – Trippy sound design fed into rhythmic arps
‘Fog FM’ – Heavy delays and big filtered synth lines
‘Lucy’ – Dubby house groover built for the dancefloor
