British house duo CamelPhat have seen a rise to the top that is unrivalled outside of a chosen few. Their tracks have come on labels like Ministry Of Sound, RCA, Defected and Moon Harbour, and their most popular production to date, Cola, has over 300,000,000 views between YouTube and Spotify. Now closing out what has been a difficult year for everyone, the pair have released their debut album, Dark Matter. The project delivers a generously long and star-studded list of
collaborators, with features coming from names like Noel Gallagher, Maverick Sabre, Skream, Jake Bugg, Foals, Elderbook, Artbat, Cristoph and Eli & Fur. Across the 21 tracks included – 3 of which are ‘Dark Matter Edits’ of previously released CamelPhat productions in Cola, Breathe and For A Feeling – we find the usual deep and tech house the duo are known for, as well as small glimpses of techno and even pop-leaning indie-esque electronic.
Where to start:
Not Over Yet – Peak time house cut with vocals from Noel Gallagher
Dance With My Ghost – Rhythmic, bass heavy club thumper
Hypercolour – Emotive synth chords and crunching bass textures
