British sibling duo Disclosure are back once again, this time for the release of their third studio album, ENERGY. Coming via Island Records, the project includes 11 tracks at 43 minutes in length, with the Deluxe version bringing a further 9 tracks for 82 minutes in total, it also includes their previously released 5-track Ecstasy EP and two collaborations with Khalid. Across the tracklist you’ll be treated to a diverse range of sounds, which are throughly connected by Disclosure’s distinct sound
design and production techniques, everything from stripped back RnB and downtempo hiphop to vibe laden deep house and vibrant, organically sourced African sounds shine through here. Disclosure didn’t hold back on tapping into their existing network of artists on this one, with the list of credited collaborators featuring Kelis, Common, Khalid, Mick Jenkins, Blick Bassy, Kehlani, Syd, Channel Tres, slowthai, Fatoumata Diawara, Eko Roosevelt, and Etran Finatawa. MJ Coles even makes an appearance in the form of a new remix for the pairs original track Birthday. According to Disclosure themselves, they apparently produced almost 200 songs for the album, with most coming in quick succession across 2019. The list was then refined and they invested more time into the ideas they wanted to include on ENERGY.
