Paris-based DJ, producer, and label owner DJ Physical levels up big time as an artist as he welcomes the release of his debut studio album ‘Silver Lake’ this month. Boasting 10 tracks in total for a 60 minute run time, the project goes heavy on club-primed productions that cover a number of different sub-genres within the electronic music sphere. Everything from house, techno, electro, and breakbeat is put on display, with a few not-so-subtle hints of acid and garage in places as well. For any fans of
weighted drum hits, probing synth stabs, and robust low end grooves, this one will be right up your street. Alongside being his debut artist album, it also finds DJ Physical make his inaugural appearance on the Bristol-based Shall Not Fade’s Lost Palms imprint, where he joins an esteemed collection of talent, including names like DJ Boring, Demuja, Subjoi, and Lxury. None of the tracks on the record are particularly mind-blowing, but there isn’t any fluff either, it’s consistently high quality from start to finish, and showcases a degree of creative maturity that you can only get from releasing a well measured full length album.
Where to start:
Stay Forever: Rolling bass meets big punchy kick drums
Early Sprinter: Pulsating acid basslines and crunching hihats
