Renowned French house producer Folamour made a return to releasing long players towards the end of May, as his fourth full length ‘Manifesto’ arrived via his own FHUO label, an imprint which has so far been kept exclusively for his own music and collaborations. Alongside FHUO, he’s also put music out with the likes of Defected, PIV, and Toy Tonics in recent times, and he continues to rack up millions of streams across platforms like Spotify and YouTube. ‘Manifesto’ finds him deliver a collection
of tracks which while being house at their core, also delve into the worlds of jazz, progressive, nu disco, and afro, further backing up his talents as one club music’s most eclectic producers. The album goes in on sunkissed party vibes, but brings an equal amount of carefully crafted downtempo goodness in the latter stages of the tracklist. Turn to titles like ‘Voyage’ and ‘Amore’ for the more upbeat club anthems, and ‘Friends’, ‘</3 Heartbroken’, and ‘Alive’ for slightly more downtempo-leaning, electronica-touched offerings. In terms of features, it’s pretty generous, with vocal contributions coming from Amadou & Mariam, Emmanuel Jal, Jungle By Night, Ti Ayre, and Khazali.
Where to start:
Amore: Smooth house jam with a top line from Baccus
Voyage: Afro-tinged deep house groover
Birds: Chunky drum hits and carefree percussive melodies
