Alongside an impressive run of releases for record labels such as Bedrock Records, Anjunadeep, and Ministry Of Sound, British DJ, producer, and label owner Franky Wah has also hosted productions from names like Nihil Young, Shadow Child, and Korolova on his own SHÉN Recordings imprint. Franky recently delivered the labels biggest and most impressive project to date, as he dropped a 27-track album which crosses a number of different genres within the electronic music
space, but also brings some of the best melodic club tracks that we have heard all year. The album merges everything from deep and tech house to both obvious and subtle glimpses of trance, acid, and garage. At times it’s straight-forward and to the point, and at others it’s much more experimental and pushes the envelope with stuff like filters, modulation, and rhythm. There’s enough sonic material to fill out two strong long players and then some, so the fact it’s arrived in one package is a kind gesture from one of Britains best melodic producers. Speaking on the project, Franky added “This mixtape was a project that initially started out as 8 tracks. Through multiple rounds of revisions, 8 tracks then turned into 27 as I had so much music that I was sitting on. I’ve been playing most of these records in my sets for a while now and seeing the reaction to them, it was clear that they needed to see the light of day.”
Where to start:
