The past few years have seen British selector Maxinne become an essential piece of the Toolroom family, with countless productions released on the label including her standout track “Tell Me Something”, which currently has over 2.6M plays on Spotify. The track is also the lead single for her debut artist album, which dropped on Toolroom at the end of July. Titled Red Alert, the 10-track long player delivers her most impressive work to date, and no doubt solidifies the fact that she’s set to soon
become a serious player amongst the leading house acts in the UK and beyond. With every track on Red Alert including a different credited feature, the album as a whole boasts contributions from names such as Lauren L’aimant, Hayla, Cami Jones, MOYA, Gene Farris, Marck Jamz, MC Flipside, DJ Rae, and Toolroom head honcho Mark Knight. It combines the worlds of deep and tech house, in one fluid, piano-driven, club hungry motion. There’s infectious vocal harmonies, incredible club grooves, enormous low end rumbles, and that wholesome sprinkle of nostalgia that we all love with our house music. Perhaps the most impressive thing about it though is the absence of any obvious filler, there’s no random b-sides or lacklustre interludes that labels love throwing into albums to fill out the tracklist, it’s fire from tracks 1 through 10, and we’re sure it’ll be popping up on the radio and in different curators playlists for months to come.
