Irish producer Ejeca has seen releases with some of the biggest record labels in dance music, not limited to the likes of Last Night On Earth, Aus Music and 20/20 Vision. Since 2016, he’s also been cooking up a storm under the ‘guise of Trance Wax, a project which initially launched anonymously with a few bootleg remixes and limited vinyl runs, but has since seen official remixes for Oceanlab’s classic Clear Blue Water and Satellite originals, a collaboration with trance veteran Ferry Corsten, and an
Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. Now after a few EPs with Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats, Trance Wax brings the projects self-titled debut long player to the label. 14 tracks of nostalgia oozing dance music, with vocals included from Moya Brennan and Jan Johnston, who featured on Chicane’s Saltwater and Freefall’s Skydive, respectively. The record showcases a broad spectrum of styles with ambient electronic and neurofunk-esque breakbeat on display, as well as plenty of trance and house of course.
Where to start:
Rivers – Melodic trance anthem with vocals from Moya Brennan
Northern Sky – Chilling ambience, lean breakbeats and roaring hoover basslines
