Five Tracks: Richie Blacker

In a year that has completely destroyed the music and live events industries, emerging Irish house talent Richie Blacker has been on another level.

Named BBC Radio 1’s Future Fire artist for 2021, hitting a global Beatport number one and having countless charts and radio plays across his releases in 2020, he has certainly made the most of a bad situation.

Releasing on Sasha’s Last Night on Earth, Skream’s Of Unsound Mind, Danny Howard’s Nothing Else Matters and most recently Anjunadeep, the young artist is building a highly reputable catalogue of music.

Joining us for the latest on our Five Tracks series, he highlights some of his favourite tracks in dance music, including some of the hottest up and coming artists you need to be aware of.

Mr Sosa – Zealous
Label: Elation Industrie

Mr. Sosa is without a doubt one of my favourite producers at the moment. We met about a year ago and are now good friends. He’s one of the biggest and best rising talents in our scene. This track Zealous by him is so infectious with its deep low end Juno bass, catchy arps & stabs. I loved it so much that when I was asked to remix it I jumped at the chance.

James ID – Don’t Wanna Know
Label: Lunar Music

James is another producer who I absolutely love. His music is incredible. From the big room progressive sounds like this track that I have just picked to the more underground anthems. James can do it all, and he is definitely a talent to keep an eye on as he has a big year ahead of him in 2021.

LF System – Bourgie Bourgie
Label: Roux Records.

I only recently discovered these guys and I absolutely love their sounds. This track is so uplifting and infectious. Every time I listen to it, it instantly makes me happy. I can not recommend this track enough.

Trance Wax – Lifeline
Label: Anjunabeats

Trance Wax is a producer that knows no boundaries. He is unbelievable! From his house and techno style under his Ejeca alias to his more recent 90s trance and breakbeat influenced trance music. There is no stopping him and I’m excited to hear more from Gary. I’m a long time fan. His new album on Anjunabeats is mint!

Bicep – Apricots
Label: Ninja Tune

Bicep just released their new long awaited album Isles last week, and it is nothing short of amazing. It’s absolutely outstanding and I can not recommend it enough. Matt and Andy are in a league of their own. So I couldn’t do this write up and not mention them. Their album is 10/10. There is not one sh*t track on there.
