Five Tracks: WLAD

Parisian house producer WLAD has been gradually becoming one of the most reliable names in French club music, with both his own productions, and those coming via his hedZup Records imprint.

hedZup has seen releases come from names like Sidney Charles, Youandewan, Per Hammar, and DJOKO, while WLAD’s music has seen appearances on House Puff Records, Moan, and Deeperfect Records.

We welcome WLAD to our Five Tracks series this week, where he puts the spotlight on deep tech and minimal grooves from T.Jacques, Djebali, and Alex Ranerro – among others. Get the full list below.

Swoy – Conversely
Label: hedZup Records

I invited Swoy to play with me at one of my hedZup label events in Paris about six years ago. After that amazing night, he remixed my track Camel Toe on hedZup, and now I’m super happy to have him on the label again with this new track, it’s such a minimal tech groover and always gets amazing reactions from the crowd whenever I play it.

T.Jacques – Cheat Codes
Label: Nuances de Nuit

Released on his own Nuances de Nuit label, T.Jacques is such a good friend and a massively talented producer that brings this track, ready to put everyones hands up on the dancefloor. This is one that I highly recommend everyone should make sure they have in their bag! Perfect for the middle of the night when you want to take your set up a notch.

Djebali – Simply Letters
Label: Outright Records

The Parisian guy who never misses and always delivers a standout set. I have known the amazingly talented Djebali for many years, as we happen to come from the same city so I’ve always been happy to support his new music, especially when it is such an amazing tune like this one. An artist who never fails to hit the sweet spot in everything he does.

Nick Beringer – Solar Plexus
Label: Golden Gate Club Records

Nick has been a friend of mine for years and I often put his music in my sets. Especially my old ripped vinyl I have from him. His releases are always on my radar and I’m always happy to play his promos. Solar Plexus has an awesome bassline, hats, and spacey synths, it is the perfect track to transition your set and one that I’ve been loving playing out recently.

Alex Ranerro – Terrace
Label: hedZup Records

Oh my god, this track! I remember that this is what I said when Alex sent me his demo playlist for our HDZ12 release that has just came out on hedZup. If you love minimal grooves & house music, then this track is just perfect, and I’m happy to have him back on the label. I can see this one being a massive hit all round!
