Australian producer Golden Features and American double act ODESZA have both seen an impressive amount of success in their respective careers, between them amassing a total of 8.6m monthly listeners on Spotify. melodies to low end heavy club stompers and chill inducing broken rhythms. Tracks like FOUNDATION sound like it’s pulled straight off the soundtrack for Hollywood’s next epic space adventure, while the more bass heavy inclusions such as KEEP MOVING and TENSE bring the energy of a sweat-drenched back room of a warehouse rave. As a whole, the album is adventerous, but keeps a similar style throughout, one built from smart sample choices, clean sound design and intelligent songwriting. It also includes vocal contribution from lau.ra, Gallant and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, arrives via ODESZA’s own Foreign Family Collective label in partnership with British indie giant Ninja Tune, and at the time of writing sits at #22 on the official AIRA chart. Speaking on the album, the three collaborators said “This record isn’t like anything any of us have done before; it’s a creative departure from the worlds of ODESZA and Golden Features – but that’s the beauty of it and the fundamental intention of the project.”
