Avicii dead at 28

EDM producer Avicii has died on Friday 20th April 2018, confirmed by his publicist Diana Baron -”It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”

Since Tim Bergling brought his music to the world when he was still in his early twenties, tracks like Bromance and Levels saw amazing success and Wake Me Up and Hey Brother took over the radio for months.

The Swedish producer had also worked with Madonna, Coldplay, Wyclef Jean and Daft Punk, won MTV Music Awards and been nominated for a Grammy Award.

Tim suffered from excessive drinking in the past and had retired from touring in 2016 following health issues that resulted in his gallbladder and appendix being removed, but it is unconfirmed if these issues are related to his death.

This is a quote from him in 2017: “Last year, I quit performing live, and many of you thought that was it. But the end of live never meant the end of Avicii or my music. Instead, I went back to the place where it all made sense – the studio. The next stage will be all about my love of making music to you guys. It is the beginning of something new. Hope you´ll enjoy it as much as I do.”
