Five Tracks: Monkey Safari

This months edition of Five Tracks welcomes one of Germany’s most consistent duos to Inflyte, Monkey Safari.

Since debuting back in 2010, the pair have released their productions with the likes of Get Physical, Anjunadeep and Pracht, as well as their own highly successful Hommage imprint.

The next release on their schedule finds them make an appearance with Blaufield Music, for their new remix of Booka Shade’s Pray original.

Browsing their picks on five tracks, we find sounds from Guti, Christian Burkhardt, Ian Pooley and the late SOPHIE, among others. Find the full list including words from Monkey Safari themselves, below.

Christian Burkhardt – Delight
Label: Offenbach

Delight is one of the few tracks that has survived the years in our DJ bag. It’s not a club burner or primetime rocket, but it’s one of the grooviest tracks we have ever encountered.

Daft Punk – Burnin’ (Ian Pooley Cut Up Mix)
Label: Parlophone

2021 will be remembered by many as the year Daft Punk broke up. The track combines two of our favorite artists. Daft Punk is obvious, but Ian Pooley is also an extremely gifted producer who maybe doesn’t get the props he deserves.

SOPHIE – Nothing More To Say (Vox Mix)
Label: Huntleys + Palmers

Timeless. Rest In Peace, SOPHIE.

Guti – Hope
Label: DFTD

‘Hope’ by Guti is also a track that we’ve been playing since forever, sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on the dancefloor situation. Unfortunately, there haven’t been any ‘dancefloor situations’ for a long time, and so the track’s title has taken on a whole new and completely different meaning for us.

Booka Shade – Mandarine Girl
Label: Get Physical Music

Definitely one of the tracks that influenced us the most. Enjoy this track which comes from a time when smartphones only existed in Star Trek.

Monkey Safari’s remix for Booka Shade’s Pray is out now on Blaufield Music.
