Five Tracks: Shlomi Aber

Alongside releasing his own productions on top shelf techno imprints such as CLR, Figure, and BPitch Control, Shlomi Aber has been responsible for putting out works from Truncate, Marco Faraone, and Jeroen Search on his own Be As One label.

The Tel-Aviv native, who now resides in Barcelona, will make his return to Josh Wink’s renowned Ovum Recordings nex week, for the release of his 3-track, all original, ‘Rewired’ EP. The release will combine original tracks ‘Rewired’, ‘Brickwall’, and ‘Dream To Be A Drum’.

He also joins us this week for our latest edition of Five Tracks, where music from the likes of Kashpitzky, Los Hermanos, Dykkon, and Rosati makes up his selection of lean, hard hitting, techno anthems. You can find the full list, including words from Shlomi himself below.

Kashpitzky – I Got This
Label: Be As One

One of the best producers out there these days, one of my main Be As One label artists, I play almost everything coming out of his studio in the past couple of years. It was hard to choose only one track from Kashpitzky on this selection, but I will go with the one of many that I almost never skip playing out.

Another Machines & Dykkon – Reunion 3
Label: DkN Selections

I’m always falling for those one lead sound tracks when they are done right and proper, and this one is no different. I actually made my own edits for this one but it’s still just great as it is.

Shlomi Aber – Lights On
Label: CLR

Selecting one of mine here maybe feels a bit iffy, but collaborating with Chris Liebing and his CLR label is always a pleasure, and I enjoyed the process and the result of doing something for them that still feels very much like myself. Knowing how critical and hard I can get when it comes to my own personal approach with music, this project was one of my highlights from last year.

Los Hermanos – Tescat
Label: Los Hermanos

A 20 year old track from Los Hermanos that I slipped back into my sets lately, this one symbolises so much for me personally and for anyone who lived the history of the second generation of techno and electronic music in general, one of many Los Hermano’s timeless classics.

Rosati – The Alarm
Label: Be As One

Another great artist of the label, very unique and mature in their approach to production, an old soul if you may. ‘The Alarm’ was one of my most played tracks in the past year, the perfect old school meets new school, with a Jeff Mills twist all over it.

Shlomi Aber – Rewired EP is out January 13th on Ovum Recordings.
