James Ford and Jas Shaw, more known as Simian Mobile Disco, have without doubt been one of the most essential acts for British music across the past two decades. Having releases records on labels like Kitsuné, Interscope, Universal and their own Delicacies imprint. This month the duo dropped their sixth studio album, a nine track record titled Murmurations on Wichita Recordings Ltd. The album, which also features vocals from Deep Throat Choir on four tracks, brings an aural painting of
softened toplines, gritty sound design, glowing synth work and bright melodies, all planted around free flowing drums and percussion. With the upbeat tempo of tracks like ‘Defender’ and the stimulating harmonies on ‘Caught In A Wave’, Murmurations is sure to tick most boxes.
