Canadian producer, DJ, live act and label owner, Deadmau5, has released a statement that he will be taking an indefinite hiatus from the music industry following a number of now-deleted tweets.
The Twitter posts had included remarks that were homophobic and transphobic, as well as taking aim at American EDM producer Slushii, calling his tracks ‘AIDS Music’ and ‘Austistic S**t’.
Within the statement he mentions “I sincerely apologise for my comments which were completely offensive” adding “It’s time for me to deal with my own personal issues, I will be going off the radar and taking the time necessary to work on myself”. Find the full statement below.
