Lucy Monkman has swiftly became one of the UK’s most marketable DJs under the guise of Monki, her BBC Radio 1 residency is one of the companies most sought after shows amongst Monday night club fiends.
Besides her DJ escapades, Monki also heads up her own &Friends imprint, where she has welcomed tunes from DJ Boring, Citizenn and Theo Kottis among others.
This month will also see her make a return to the studio as she delivers a double tracker on Defected’s bass heavy sister label DFTD. The tracklist sees Electricity and ENG98, with the title track also featuring vocal hooks courtesy of Tracy. The production credits also list the efforts of Aus Music and Hypercolour affiliate Tom Demac.
The warm natured house sounds and fiery tech percussion sit beneath the vocal talents of Tracy for a splendid display of mainroom action that arrives on DFTD on August 24th.
