ROTW: Dance System - In Your System

Following a run of success under the guise of L-Vis 1990, London-based DJ & producer James Connolly launched a new project in Dance System, which has since seen him release music on labels such as Anjunadeep, Monkeytown Records, Clone, and Edible. Black Girl / White Girl. Connolly delivers a restless mix of sounds across the 11 inclusions, with a wealth of lively drum grooves, vibrant synth licks, and deeply rooted basslines coming together for a product that has massive potential to dominate UK clubs the summer. His intelligent use of resonance on some of the basslines, creative modulation techniques, and strong sample choices keep things from being just another house album, it’s bold, quirky, and headed for a dancefloor near you. Speaking about the project, Dance System said “With In Your System, I really wanted to make a record strictly for the clubs that shows the depth of what I play as a DJ. I definitely let the dark side of Dance System come out a lot more than people might know me for, as I feel it matches the crazy times we are living in. At the end of the day though, it’s all house music – it’s made to make your body move, have fun and provide a little respite from our current situation.”
