Sonos and Beastie Boys have designed a speaker together

California based speaker company Sonos have teamed up with iconic hip hop group Beastie Boys to celebrate the artists’ book launch with a bespoke edition of their flagship Play:5 speaker.

Designed by San Francisco based artist Barry McGee together with Beastie Boys members Adam Horovitz and Michael Diamond, the speaker features an all white finish with ‘Beastie Boys’ across the font in a bold red.

It will be released this coming December and will retail for £499, with proceeds being donated to Peace Sisters and Little Kids Rock charities.

Brian Beck, Sonos Global Head of Music said “It’s no coincidence that the first song ever played out loud on a Sonos was ‘No Sleep till Brooklyn’. Beastie Boys are a revered and inspirational force in music, with a legacy we are incredibly grateful to support through this exclusive collaboration, celebrating the work and philosophies we respect enormously.”
